Our kitchen stays open late until 12am weekdays & 1am Fridays & Saturdays, allowing you
to party till the AM & still feed the masses!
With three different function spaces at your disposal, we can cater to a range of events.
From business meetings in our private Captain’s Den, to whole venue birthday extravaganzas
(that’s what we recently did for our birthday).

CAPTAINS DEN
Capacity: 35 pax seated or 45 pax cocktail.
The Captain’s Den is a fully enclosed, air conditioned room, featuring a mixture of stools, chairs, dry bars & banquet seating. A 65” LCD television is mounted on the wall, which is perfect for slideshows, presentations or entertainment videos. The Captain’s Den can also come with its own bar, allowing you to keep all your guests together in one private space. Need more space? We can also open this space to the Sailors Quarters, allowing you to entertain more guests, just ask our functions team.
A cordless microphone is available at an extra fee for speeches & announcements.
SAILORS QUARTERs
Capacity: 30 pax seated or 40 pax cocktail.
Sailors Quarters, facing Little Stanley street, features an undercover area with a mixture of seating options. An LCD television is mounted on the wall, which is perfect for slideshows, presentations or entertainment videos. This area offers great views of South Bank park.
CANNON ALLEY
Capacity: 20 pax seated or 30 cocktail.
Cannon Alley, located on the Grey Street side of Barbossa Bar, is a stunning undercover area featuring a mixture of banquet seating, chairs & stools. Great for more casual & intimate gatherings.

“Barbossa hosted my 21st birthday and I couldn’t have asked for a better turnout! I hired the Captain’s Den for the night and it perfectly fit my party of 35 people. The area was a lovely set up and they allowed for me to add my own decorations which really helped set the scene. A huge shout out to Phoebe and Curtis for being so warm and attentive the entire night, always checking in with me to make sure that I was happy with everything. All round a really great time and a really great place to host an event or just go for dinner and drinks, I highly recommend!”
